Der ganze Tag war verregnet und wir waren kaum draußen. Bei zunehmendem Wind sind wir gegen Abend nach Nordwesten gefahren. Einen Stellplatz haben wir neben der Straße gefunden, mit Blick auf die Meeresbucht Loch Bracadale in der Ferne.
Während der ganzen Nacht hat der Sturm an unserem Reisemobil gezerrt und uns im Bett geschaukelt. Dazu hat es zeitweise wie aus Kübeln gegossen. Beim Frühstück wollen wir zumindest ein wenig Struktur in den Wolken erkennen, die Hoffnung auf Besserung versprechen soll. Ein guter Morgen zum Putzen und Bettzeug wechseln.
Gegen Mittag fahren wir weiter nach Nordwesten und schließlich nach Westen. Neist Point, der westlichste Punkt der Isle of Skye, ist unser Ziel. Die Schauer werden weniger, aber der Wind weht zunächst immer noch heftig. Im Laufe des Nachmittags lässt er tatsächlich nach und die Sonne kommt heraus.
Vom Parkplatz geht es an der ersten Steilwand etwa fünfzig Meter eine Art Treppe hinab. Vor uns erhebt sich der Fels, hinter dem der Leuchtturm auf den Klippen steht.
To the point
The whole day was rainy and we were hardly outside. With increasing wind we drove towards evening to the northwest. We found a parking space next to the road, overlooking the bay of Loch Bracadale in the distance.
Throughout the night, the storm has dragged on our camper and rocked us in bed. Additionally, it has temporarily poured out of buckets. At breakfast we want to recognize at least a little structure in the clouds, which should promise hope for improvement. A good morning for cleaning and changing bedding.
Around noon we continue to the northwest and finally to the west. Neist Point, the westernmost point of the Isle of Skye, is our destination. The showers are less, but the wind is still strong at first. During the afternoon it actually stops and the sun comes out.
From the parking lot it goes along the first steep wall about fifty meters down a kind of staircase. In front of us rises the rock behind which the lighthouse stands on the cliffs.
