Am nächsten Morgen zeigt sich wieder Mount Taranaki. Aber im Laufe des Vormittags hüllt er sich in Wolken. Als die kurz aufreißen, erhaschen wir noch einen Blick auf die Spitze des Vulkans. Dann machen wir uns auf zu Cape Egmont, westlich des Bergs. Wegen der Wolken ist uns die spektakuläre Ansicht des Leuchtturms am Cape mit dem Vulkan im Hintergrund nicht möglich. Aber wir entdecken ein hübsches Spalier von Cabbage Trees. Die gibt es überall in Neuseeland, aber selten so aufgereiht.
The next morning Mount Taranaki shows again. But during the morning it wraps itself in clouds. As they rip briefly, we catch a glimpse of the top of the volcano. Then we head to Cape Egmont, west of the mountain. Because of the clouds, the spectacular view of the lighthouse on the Cape with the volcano in the background is not possible. But we discover a nice trellis of Cabbage Trees. They are everywhere in New Zealand, but rarely strung like that.
