Südlich von El Rocío grenzt der Nationalpark Doñana am Meer an den Badeort Matalascañas. Am Ortsrand, unmittelbar an der Parkgrenze, liegt ein sandiger Wohnmobil-Stellplatz, auf dem wir eine sehr ruhige Weihnachts-Nacht verbringen. Nach dem Frühstück machen wir einen Strandspaziergang. Die Parkgrenze ist mit hohen Pfählen markiert. Wir sind die Ersten auf dem Bereich, den das Meer mit der nächtlichen Flut überspült hat. Nach einiger Zeit kommt noch ein Jogger, dann ein Fahrzeug der Nationalpark-Verwaltung. Nach mehreren Wochen an der wild tosenden Westküste des Atlantik sind wir hier überrascht von der schwachen Brandung.
On the beach at Matalascañas
South of El Rocío, the Doñana National Park borders the seaside resort of Matalascañas. On the outskirts of the village, right on the edge of the park, there is a sandy motorhome pitch where we spend a very peaceful Christmas night. After breakfast, we take a walk on the beach. The park boundary is marked with tall posts. We are the first to arrive at the area that has been flooded by the night tide. After a while, a jogger arrives, followed by a vehicle from the national park administration. After several weeks on the wild and stormy west coast of the Atlantic, we are surprised by the weak surf here.
