Sonntagskind

.

Sunday’s Child

Since I was born on a Sunday, I have been convinced that Sunday children are particularly lucky. Last Sunday (0:45 am to 1:45 am) I had a life-saving operation. When I woke up from the anaesthetic, I thought: right! All I saw were smiling, beaming faces of all the hospital staff attending to me. Even the wall and bed linen showed a smiley.

Dear family, dear friends, dear subscribers and blog readers, thank you very much for the many greetings and powerful thoughts. They have given me a lot of strength. Exactly 2 1/2 days after the operation I was allowed to leave the clinic. With a long scar, antibiotics, painkillers and stomach medication, bandages, iodine, dietary advice, and lots of heartfelt handshakes and get-well wishes from all the doctors, nurses, service staff and bedmates, and even the security guard came to say goodbye. That was great! After 7 days I have to have stitches removed. After that I would like to move on.

I slept in my bed again! Whoo-hoo! (without a hollow in the mattress). Now I’m still pretty weak but overjoyed to have survived everything so far. Just like a Sunday child.

We can’t continue our journey right away, first I have to regain my strength. But the great experiences we had before the hospital stay, some of which led to this, we want to continue to present here in the blog from tomorrow.
