Cromarty in Hochglanz
Es war nicht immer so hübsch und herausgeputzt in Cromarty, einem kleinen Ort an der Nordspitze der Black Isle, nördlich von Inverness. Die Arbeitslosigkeit war hoch und viele Menschen sind abgewandert. Aber seit die Ölbohr- und -förderinseln in der Bucht Cromarty Firth verankert, repariert und instandgesetzt werden, erlebt die Gegend neuen Aufschwung. Nicht jedem gefällt der Anblick vieler Bohrinseln unweit des Ufers, aber die meisten haben sich wohl damit arrangiert.
Der Ort Cromarty macht jedenfalls einen ansprechenden, aufgeräumten und äußerst gepflegten Eindruck. Dazu kommt noch ein filmreifer Himmel, der diese Idylle betont. Und die Black Isle ist weder schwarz noch eine Insel, sondern eine Halbinsel.

It was not always so pretty and swept out in Cromarty, a small town on the northern tip of the Black Isle, north of Inverness. Unemployment was high and many people have migrated. But since the oil rigs have been anchored and repaired in the bay of Cromarty Firth, the area is experiencing a new upswing. Not everyone likes the sight of many oil rigs near the shore, but most of them have arranged with it.
The place Cromarty makes in any case an appealing, tidy and extremely well-kept impression. In addition, there is a beautiful sky, which emphasizes this idyll. And the Black Isle is neither black nor an island, but a peninsula.
