Von Saaremaa sind wir über Muhu und per Fähre zurück zum Festland gefahren, dann weiter nach Norden. Wir erreichen Haapsalu und staunen. Aus einer Straßenbiegung am Ortseingang fahren wir direkt auf einen Museumsbahnhof zu. Historische Lokomotiven, Spezialfahrzeuge und Waggons stehen hier auf mehreren Gleisen. Und dahinter ein Bahnhof aus dem Jahr 1909. Der wurde für den Zar, seine Familie und andere Gäste des Seebads gebaut und inzwischen restauriert.
Tsar’s train station From Saaremaa we drove back to the mainland via Muhu and by ferry, then further north. We reach Haapsalu and are amazed. From a bend in the road at the entrance to the town we drive directly towards a museum train station. Historic locomotives, special vehicles and wagons stand here on several tracks. And behind it a train station from 1909. It was built for the Tsar, his family and other guests of the seaside resort and has meanwhile been restored.
