Barcelona ist angesagt und hipp, das ist bei unseren Spaziergängen durch die katalanische Metropole mit Händen greifbar. Mitte Februar ist die Stadt voll von Touristen. Was hier wohl im Sommer los ist? Barcelona hat etwas weniger Einwohner als Hamburg, sein Flair ist aber viel wuchtiger, eher wie Berlin, aber nicht so aggressiv sondern mediterran.
Barcelona is hip, that’s palpable on our walks through the Catalan metropolis. In mid-February, the city is full of tourists. What may be going on here in summer? Kunst hat einen hohen Stellenwert in dieser Stadt. Künstlerische Gebäude sowie kunstvoll verzierte, dekorierte oder bemalte sind fast selbstverständlich. Und an vielen Orten, auf Plätzen, in Straßen, stehen Skulpturen.
Art has a high status in this city. Artistic buildings as well as artistically decorated or painted ones are almost a matter of course. And in many places, on squares, in streets, there are sculptures.
Die Basilika La Sagrada Família von Gaudí ist rundherum Baustelle, die Turmspitzen sind eingehüllt und der Himmel ist grau. So fällt es uns nicht schwer, aufs Anstehen für die Innenbesichtigung und Ersteigen der Türme zu verzichten.

Casa Milà ein Wohngebäude, das Gaudí schuf, sehen wir bei blauem Himmel und Sonnenschein. Das Gebäude, das im Volksmund La Pedrera (Steinbruch / Steinhaufen) heißt, ist Weltkulturerbe.
