Die Dänische Seenplatte um Ry ist ein touristischer Hotspot, auch wegen Himmelbjerget, der mit seinen 147 m bis 1847 als höchster „Berg“ Dänemarks angesehen wurde. Den idyllischen Stellplatz auf einem Parkplatz tief im Laubwald geben wir auf, als wir eine Gruppe junger Männer mehr Bier den Berg hinauf schleppen sehen, als sie trinken können. Wer weiß, wie lange die Idylle hält? Am Ortsrand von Gammel Bye finden wir einen hübschen Wanderparkplatz. Der Wanderweg führt durch Heide auf einen Hügel und an einer Blumenwiese entlang. Mit dem Mähen der Wiese sind drei Islandpferde betraut.

The Danish Lake District around Ry is a tourist hotspot, also because of Himmelbjerget, which with its 147 m was considered Denmark’s highest „mountain“ until 1847. We abandon the idyllic pitch on a car park deep in the deciduous forest when we see a group of young men lugging more beer up the mountain than they can drink. Who knows how long the idyll will last? On the outskirts of Gammel Bye we find a pretty hiker’s car park. The footpath leads through heather up a hill and along a flower meadow. Three Icelandic horses are in charge of mowing the meadow.
