Big Muddy

Between Bengough and the US border lies the Big Muddy badlands. Already at the approach from the north a clear change of the landscape is visible: The hilly, agriculturally used land ends at an eroded edge. And then the valley of the ‚badlands‘ lies before us. This is how we imagined prairie. It is very dusty here. Much fantasy is not necessary to imagine that it gets muddy in the rain. The main attraction is the bare mountain ‚Castle Butte‘, which sticks out of the plain. As bad the land is for agriculture, so worth seeing is the landscape. The area is populated by ground squirrels. They always look curious out of their earth caves.
