Bevor wir Yukon verlassen und von Whitehorse über Vancouver nach Deutschland zurück fliegen, erleben wir noch ein paar kleine, aber spektakuläre Highlights am südlichen Klondike Highway (Hwy 2). Gleich nördlich von Carcross entdecken wir links und rechts des Highway pittoreske Feuchtgebiete. Noch etwas weiter nördlich liegt der bekannte Emerald Lake (Smaragdsee). Warum er so heißt, bedarf sicher keiner Erklärung.
Before leaving Yukon and flying back from Whitehorse via Vancouver to Germany, wel experience some small but spectacular highlights at the southern Klondike Highway (Hwy 2). Just north of Carcross, we discover picturesce wetlands on the left and right of the highway. A little further north is the well-known Emerald Lake. Why it is called emerald, surely needs no explanation.

Mit diesen Bildern endet der Bericht von unserer 4 1/2 – wöchigen Reise mit einem gemieteten Camper Van durch Yukon, ein wenig British Columbia (beide Kanada) und zwei Abstecher durch Alaska (USA). Wir sind begeistert und werden alles daran setzen, wiederzukommen.
