Die Wilde Küste (Costa Brava), der nördliche Abschnitt der spanischen Mittelmeerküste, ist berüchtigt für ihre Auswüchse des Massentourismus, wie z.B. Bettenburgen. Dennoch gibt es die wilde Küste, an der sich kurze und längere Strandabschnitte mit wild zerklüfteten Felsen abwechseln. Die zwanzig Kilometer Küstenstraße zwischen Sant Feliu de Guíxols und Tossa de Mar gelten als eine der schönsten Routen an der gesamten Mittelmeerküste Spaniens.
The wild coast (Costa Brava), the northern part of the Spanish Mediterranean coast, is notorious for its excesses of mass tourism, such as concrete blocks. Nevertheless, there is the wild coast, where short and long stretches of beach alternate with wild rugged rocks. The twenty kilometer coastal road between Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Tossa de Mar is considered one of the most beautiful routes on the entire Mediterranean coast of Spain.
Die steil abfallenden Hänge sind bewaldet mit Pinien, Kiefern und Korkeichen. In den Kiefern sehen wir häufig gesponnene Kokons, mehr als faustdick. Und wie zur Untermalung begegnet uns eine Kolonne von Raupen, die vermutlich für solche Kokons zuständig sind.
The steep slopes are wooded with pines and cork oaks. In the pines we often see woven cocoons, more than fist-thick. And as if for confirmation we meet a column of caterpillars, which are probably responsible for such cocoons.
