Der Wood Buffalo National Park ist nicht nur einer der größten Nationalparks, sondern auch das größte Lichtschutzgebiet (Dark Sky Reserve) der Welt. Da passt es gut, dass die Prognosen für Nordlichter und Wetter gut sind. Und die Lichterscheinungen am Himmel sind mal wieder ganz anders, als ein paar Tage zuvor. Ein angenehmer Aspekt beim nächtlichen Fotografieren im Spätsommer im Vergleich mit unseren Aufnahmen im winterlichen Nordnorwegen sind die um 20 bis 25 °C höheren Nachtemperaturen.
