The center of Europe

We Western Europeans are slightly inclined to classify the Baltic States in Eastern Europe. This is wrong. The geographic centre of Europe is in Lithuania, about 25 km north of Vilnius. The French Academy of Sciences has located this point at 54 ° 54 ‘north latitude, 25 ° 19‘ east longitude. The Lithuanians proudly call this place Europos centras. It proves that they belong to Europe not on the edge but in the middle. A boulder with the data marks the point. And since the country joined the EU in 2004 there has been a monument with a crown of golden stars and flags, but only for the EU states (still including Great Britain).
