Umfragen zufolge glaubt ein Großteil der Isländer an Elfen und Trolle. Das finde ich sehr sympathisch. In dieser einzigartigen Landschaft finde ich die Vorstellung, dass hier solche Wesen wohnen, verständlich.
Unverständlich sind mir allerdings die oft sehr kleinen Leuchttürme, die wir an der Küste sehen. Sie sehen nett aus in ihrem grellorangen Outfit und leuchten dort mit den Lupinen um die Wette. Ich habe den Verdacht, dass es sich hierbei um Leuchttürme für Elfen handeln könnte.
Elves tower?
According to polls a majority of Iclanders believes in elves and trolls. I find that very sympathic. In this unique landscape I find the imagination of such creatures living here comprehensible.
Incomprehensible to me are the often very small lighthouses we see at the coast. They look nice in their garish orange outfit and shine there in competition with the lupines. I have the suspicion that they might be lighthouses for elves.
Der Leuchtturm Óshólar steht in Ósvör gegenüber dem nördlichsten Ort der Westfjorde, Bolungarvík. Die ehemalige Küstenstraße ist dort blockiert und wird nicht mehr unterhalten, seit es einen Tunnel als Ersatz gibt. Bei der Straßenblockierung ist eine Kehre für Fahrzeuge, in der wir direkt beim Leuchtturm einen schönen Stellplatz für die Nacht hatten.
Óshólar lighthouse is located in Ósvör opposite of the northern most town in the Westfjords, Bolungarvík. The former coastal road is blocked there and is no longer maintained since there is a tunnel replacing it. At the road block there is a turning area for vehicles in which we had a nice place for the night next to the lighthouse.
