Nordwestlich von Guadix sind wir bei Huélago auf einer schmalen aber gut asphaltierten Straße unterwegs. Die Landschaft ist karg, steinig und bröselig. Landwirtschaft besteht hier, wo sie überhaupt möglich ist, praktisch ausschließlich aus Mandel- und Olivenbäumchen. Offensichtlich hat es hier vor Kurzem geregnet. Der Boden der Mandel-Plantage ist weiß von Blüten. In der Ferne sind nackte, bunte Bergflanken zu sehen. Auch die Hügel, die die Oliven-Plantagen begrenzen, sind nackt und farbenfroh. Der Regen hat sie zu dicken Tränen geformt.
Wir biegen nach Süden ab, in Richtung Fonelas. Nach ein paar Kilometern zeigen sich hoch aufragende Felswände neben der Straße, aus denen großflächig dicke Brocken herausgebrochen und abgestürzt sind.
Erosion near Huélago
Northwest of Guadix, we are travelling on a narrow but well-paved road near Huélago. The landscape is barren, rocky and crumbly. Wherever agriculture is possible here, it consists almost exclusively of almond and olive trees. It has obviously rained here recently. The ground of the almond plantation is white with blossoms. In the distance, bare, colourful mountain slopes can be seen. The hills bordering the olive plantations are also bare and colourful. The rain has formed them into thick tears.
We turn south towards Fonelas. After a few kilometres, towering rock faces appear alongside the road, from which large chunks have broken off and fallen to the ground.
