Die traditionelle Tulpenregion der Niederlande ist Südholland, auch in Nordholland gibt es große Anbauflächen mit Blumenzwiebeln. Aber das größte Blumenzwiebel-Anbaugebiet ist inzwischen der Nordostpolder in der Provinz Flevoland. In dem 1942 trocken gelegten Gebiet gibt es unüberschaubar große Felder mit jeweils einer Farbe. Auf dem Weg nach Hause machen wir hier nochmal Station. Der Herumkommer erinnert sich an Blumenkohl- und Speisezwiebelfelder, die sich hier in früheren Jahrzehnten kilometer weit ausdehnten. Viele der Gemüseanbauflächen sind heute Tulpenfelder.
Bei trübem Himmel leuchten die Felder heute nicht so, wie an den Tagen zuvor, auch weil die Blüten wegen der Regenschauer geschlossen sind. Aber die Regentropfen an Blüten und Blättern sorgen für ein besonderes Flair.
Colour plantations
The traditional tulip region of the Netherlands is South Holland, also in North Holland there are large cultivated areas with flower bulbs. But the largest flower bulb growing area is meanwhile the Northeast Polder in the province of Flevoland. In the area that was drained in 1942 there are unmanageable large fields, each with one colour. On the way home we stop here again. The Aroundgetter recalls cauliflower and onion fields that stretched miles in previous decades. Many of those vegetable fields today are tulip fields.
With the murky sky the fields are not as bright today as they were the days before, also because the flowers are closed because of the rain showers. But the raindrops on flowers and leaves provide a special flair.
