Once again we ride over countless serpentines to the pass through the Dirphys mountains in the north-east of Euboea at 1028 meters altitude. Some surrounding peaks present themselves rocky bare. And in the immediate vicinity, coniferous trees grow in the dikes, as if they were alpine meadows.

Further countless curves and serpentines farther down we reach the long beach of Hiliadou. On its east side it is bounded by a bizarre rock. On closer inspection, we discover a passage to several caves, into which the sea rushes. High up in the rocks above the beach is a herd of wild, black goats, looking down curiously.
