An der Küste der Charente-Maritime sowie an den Mündungen von Charente und Gironde ist das Fischen aus Hütten am Ufer heraus weit verbreitet. Die Hütten stehen auf Stelzen am Ufer aufgereiht. Auf der Wasserseite hängt an einer Art Galgen / Ausleger ein rechteckiges, an Seilen gespanntes Netz. Das wird bei ausreichendem Wasserstand über Seilzüge auf den Grund gelassen und rasch wieder herauf gezogen. Dabei bleibt manchmal der eine oder andere Fisch im Netz.
Hut fishing
On the coast of the Charente-Maritime as well as at the estuaries of Charente and Gironde, fishing from huts is widespread on the shore. The huts stand on stilts stringed along the shore. On the water side, at a kind of gallows / boom hangs a rectangular, rope-stretched net. When the water level is sufficient, this is let to the ground by means of cable pulls and is quickly pulled up again. Thus, sometimes one or the other fish is caught in the net.
