Von dieser Winterreise durch Island haben wir schon mehrere Beiträge mit Islandpferden gebracht. Mit ihrem dicken Winterfell und den langen Mähnen faszinieren sie immer wieder, besonders im Schnee. Doch südlich von Húsavík erleben wir etwas, womit wir nicht gerechnet haben: Als wir die Pferde im Gebiet Skjálfandafjlót fotografieren wollen, kommen zwei Reiter entlang geritten. Das ist für die kleine Herde auf der Koppel das Signal, wie wild ein paar Runden zu laufen.

From this winter trip through Iceland we have already brought several posts with Iceland horses. With their thick winter fur and the long mane, they always fascinate, especially in the snow. However, south of Húsavík, we experience something that we have not expected: when we want to photograph the horses in the area Skjálfandafjlót, two riders come along. This is the signal for the small herd on the paddock, to run a few laps like wild.
