Vom Nordwesten Rumäniens sind wir in zwei Tagen durch Ungarn nach Österreich gefahren, bis an die Donau im Nordosten des Landes. Am nördlichen Ufer, bei Orth an der Donau, wollen wir einen Spaziergang durch den Herbstwald machen. Die Kamera mitzunehmen, lohnt sich eigentlich nicht, denn es ist Mitte November und der Himmel grau. Aber dies ist nicht irgend ein Wald, sondern ein Auwald und Nationalpark; da ist vielleicht doch etwas Interessantes zu sehen. Und dann entpuppt sich diese Donauaue als ein Dschungel, der dank abgeworfenem Laub faszinierende Einblicke gewährt.
In the Danube Floodplain National Park From the north-west of Romania we drove in two days through Hungary to Austria, to the Danube in the north-east of the country. On the northern bank, near Orth an der Donau, we want to take a walk through the autumn forest. It’s not really worth taking the camera, because it’s mid-November and the sky is grey. But this is not just any forest, it is a floodplain forest and national park; there might be something interesting to see after all. And then this Danube floodplain turns out to be a jungle that offers fascinating insights thanks to fallen leaves.
