In the westernmost west
The westernmost point of the French mainland, the Pointe du Raz on the Atlantic coast of Bretagne, is firmly in the hands of tourism. Far in front of the cape is a huge, very feeble parking as a kind of barrier for everything that wants to get to this ‚Grand Site de France‘. Although only extended weekend and tourism season still far away, „the bear was out“ there: Countless vehicles in the parking lot. Without losing a word about it, we immediately agreed: „Let’s get away!“
Following the recommendation of the camper guide, we have been already ’next door‘ at the Pointe du Van, which is only slightly less far into the Atlantic. There were also people on the road, but not masses. We were able to drive over roads and paths or hike, respectively, park free. And the Pointe du Van is absolutely worth seeing.
Below is a beautiful beach, obviously well suited for surfers to practice.
