Warme, sonnenklare Herbsttage und kühle Nächte mit trockener Luft sind die Zutaten, damit die neun Eichen- und insbesondere die etwa 20 Ahornarten ihre Farbenpracht entfalten. Vancouver Island in southwestern Canada has the mildest climate in the country, but the people there somewhat begrudge those in the East: the Indian Summer. The intensely coloured foliage of the trees has an almost euphoric effect with a blue sky. Warm, sunny autumn days and cool nights with dry air are the ingredients for the nine oak and especially the approximately 20 maple species to develop their blaze of colour. Especially the strong red tones fascinate us.
