Von Siglufjörður nach Ólafsfjörður gibt es eine kurze, durchgehend asphaltierte Straße. Sie besteht fast ausschließlich aus zwei Tunnels. Und es gibt die lange, überwiegend nicht asphaltierte Straße, am See Stífluvatn entlang und durch die Lágheiði mit einem malerischen Tal. Da wir damit rechnen müssen, dass wir im Tunnel nicht anhalten und die Landschaft fotografieren dürfen, wählen wir den längeren, idyllischen Weg.
Long way in the sunshine
From Siglufjörður to Ólafsfjörður there is a short road, throughout paved. It constist almost solely of two tunnels. And there is the long, predominantly not paved road along lake Stífluvatn and through the Lágheiði with a scenic valley. As we have to anticipate, that we must not stop and photograph the landscape in a tunnel, we choose the longer idyllic way.
