Mehrere Tage haben wir gehofft, dass Krim ihre Erkrankung mit unseren „Bordmitteln“ überwinden könnte. Aber kleinen Besserungen folgten stets Rückschläge. Sie braucht ärztliche Hilfe. Es ist Sonntag und wir sind etwa 80 km von La Rioja entfernt, wo das nächstgelegene Krankenhaus ist. So schnell es geht, fahren wir hin.
Dreimal suchen wir das Hospital Dr. Enrique Vera Barros-Guardia in sechs Tagen auf. Die ersten beiden Diagnosen waren richtig, haben aber die Schwere der Erkrankung noch nicht erfasst. Die verordneten Medikamente lindern die größten Schmerzen und die heftigsten Magenprobleme aber Krims Zustand verbessert sich nicht. Schließlich am Samstag werden eine Computer-Tomographie und eine Laboruntersuchung des Blutes durchgeführt. Insgesamt vier Ärzte untersuchen Krim und sind sich schließlich einig in der Diagnose. Eine kurzfristige Operation ist erforderlich.
Alle Untersuchungen und die folgenden Behandlungen sind staatliche Leistungen und für uns kostenlos. Die verschrieben Medikamente haben wir in Apotheken gekauft, die CD für die Daten der CT müssen wir für kleines Geld in der Krankenhaus-Cafeteria kaufen.
Während Krims Aufnahme in die chirurgische Abteilung vorbereitet wird, geht der Ambulanzarzt mit mir quer durch das ganze Krankenhaus und über das Krankenhausgelände und zeigt mir den Personalparkplatz, auf dem ich mit dem Wohnmobil stehen kann, so lange Krim im Krankenhaus liegt. Auch der Wachmann am Tor wird entsprechend instruiert. Das erleichtert mir Krims Betreuung erheblich.
Tief in der Nacht wird Krim operiert, von nun an geht es recht schnell bergauf mit ihr.
Als sie 2 ½ Tage nach der Operation aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen wird und in unser mobiles Zuhause kommt, ist sie überschwänglich glücklich. Dass wir die Woche bis zur Operation ohne zusätzlichen Stress im Wohnmobil bewältigt haben, ist schon bemerkenswert. Aber die Genesung der frisch operierten Krim im Womo ist sensationell!
Fast drei Wochen haben wir uns in La Rioja und Umgebung aufgehalten. Dabei haben wir u. A. den nördlich der Stadt gelegenen Stausee Dique Los Sauces entdeckt und den ihn umgebenden Parque Dique de Los Sauces. Flankiert wird der Park von diversen Felswänden mit pittoresken Erosionserscheinungen. Nördlich des Parks haben wir einen Stellplatz in der Wildnis gegenüber einer grau-roten Wand, an dem uns schon mal eine Herde Ziegen besucht.
For several days we hoped that Krim could overcome her illness with our „on-board remedies“. But small improvements were always followed by setbacks. She needs medical help. It is Sunday and we are about 80 km from La Rioja, where the nearest hospital is. We drive there as fast as we can.
We visit the hospital Dr. Enrique Vera Barros-Guardia three times in six days. The first two diagnoses were correct, but they did not yet grasp the severity of the disease. The medicines prescribed alleviate the most severe pain and stomach problems but Krim’s condition does not improve. Finally, on Saturday, a computer tomography and a laboratory examination of the blood are carried out. A total of four doctors examine Krim and finally agree on the diagnosis. A short-term surgery is necessary.
All examinations and the following treatments are state services and free of charge for us. We bought the prescribed medicines in pharmacies, the CD for the CT data we have to buy for small money in the hospital cafeteria.
While Krim’s admission to the surgical ward is being prepared, the ambulance doctor walks with me through the whole hospital and across the hospital grounds and shows me the staff car park where I can park the camper van as long as Krim is in hospital. The security guard at the gate is also instructed accordingly. This makes Krim’s care much easier for me.
Deep in the night, Krim is operated on, and from then on things go uphill quite quickly with her.
When she is exited from the hospital 2 ½ days after the operation and comes to our mobile home, she is exuberantly happy. The fact that we managed the week leading up to the operation without any additional stress in the motorhome is quite remarkable. But the recovery of the freshly operated Krim in the camper is sensational!
We spent almost three weeks in La Rioja and its surroundings. Among other things, we discovered the Dique Los Sauces reservoir north of the city and the Parque Dique de Los Sauces surrounding it. The park is flanked by various rock faces with picturesque erosion phenomena. North of the park we have a pitch in the wilderness opposite a grey-red wall, where a herd of goats sometimes visits us.
