Die kleine Insel Fur im Limfjord, nördlich von Skive, ist landschaftlich malerisch. Und sie besteht wesentlich aus Moler, einer hellgelben Erde, die sich wie Kreide anfühlt und auch so leicht ist.
Per Fähre sind wir in fünf Minuten auf der Insel und fahren bis zu den Klippen an ihrer Nordküste. An zwei etwa 800 m von einander entfernten Stellen führen Treppen von der Klippe zum Strand hinunter. Hier sind verschiedene Gesteinslagen in der Abbruchkante erkennbar, darin eingelagert ist auch Geröll. Oberhalb der Klippe führt ein schöner Wanderpfad durch niedriges Buschwerk und leuchtende Gräser.
Moler cliffs
The small island of Fur in the Limfjord, north of Skive, is scenically picturesque. And it consists essentially of moler, a light yellow earth that feels like chalk and is also as light.
By ferry we are on the island in five minutes and drive up to the cliffs on its north coast. Stairs lead down from the cliff to the beach at two points about 800 m apart. Here, different layers of rock can be seen in the break-off edge, and there are also boulders embedded in it. Above the cliff, a beautiful hiking trail leads through low bushes and bright grasses.
