Bevor wir uns aus den Niederlanden verabschieden, wollen wir noch ans Ijsselmeer, den mit Abstand größten See des Landes. Vor der Errichtung des Abschlussdeichs war er eine große Bucht der Nordsee, die Zuiderzee.
Auf und am Nordostpolder entsteht der größte Windpark des Landes. Mit Windmühlen haben die Niederlande viel Erfahrung, aber anders als die historischen sind diese keine Pumpwerke zur Entwässerung. Hier am Deich des Ijsselmeers sehen wir auch die für diesen Polder typischen, schier endlosen Gemüsefelder.
New windmills
Before we say goodbye to the Netherlands, we want to go to the IJsselmeer, by far the largest lake in the country. Before the closure dyke was built, it was a large bay of the North Sea, the Zuiderzee.
On and at the Northeast Polder, the largest wind farm in the country is being built. With windmills, the Netherlands have a lot of experience, but unlike the historic ones, these are not drainage pumping stations. Here at the dyke of the IJsselmeer, we can also see the almost endless vegetable fields typical of this polder.
