Von Myre führt eine abenteuerliche Schotterstraße an der Küste nach Norden. Die einspurige Piste ist großenteils aus dem Steilfelsen gehauen. Auf der einen Seite ragt unmittelbar der Felsen senkrecht in die Höhe, auf der anderen gischtet die Brandung des tobenden Nordatlantik. Am Ende dieser Straße liegt das Fischerdorf Nyksund. Seit 1972 war es eine Geisterstadt, inzwischen ist es wieder teilweise bewohnt. Alte Gebäude sind restauriert oder noch in Arbeit.
Die wenigen Straßen im Ort sind sehr eng oder sehr steil oder beides. Darum dürfen Wohnmobile nicht hinein. Sinnvollerweise steht das Verbotsschild gegenüber einem Platz, der für mehrere Womos geeignet ist. Zwar haben wir hier keinen Zugang zum mobilen Internet, aber als Übernachtungsplatz ist er schön gelegen.
Der Spaziergang im Schneetreiben nach Nyksund hinein ist nicht lang. Er führt über einen künstlichen Wellenbrecher. Hier und rund um den Ort rollen heftige Wellen gegen die Felsen und spritzen viele Meter hoch.
From Myre leads an adventurous gravel road on the coast to the north. The single-lane track is mostly carved out of the steep cliffs. On one side, the rock rises vertically, while on the other is the surf of the raging North Atlantic. At the end of this road is the fishing village Nyksund. Since 1972 it was a ghost town, meanwhile it is again partially inhabited. Old buildings are restored or still in work.
The few streets in the place are very narrow or very steep or both. Therefore mobile homes are not allowed in. Meaningful the prohibition sign stands opposite a place that is suitable for several campers. Although we have no access to the mobile internet here, as a place to stay overnight it is nicely located.
The walk to Nyksund in the snow flurry is not long. It leads over a man-made breakwater. Here and around the place violent waves roll against the rocks and splash many meters high.
