„Schwäbischer Grand Canyon“ heißt das Obere Donautal in der Tourismuswerbung. Immerhin können wir bequem auf dem Grund des „Canyon“ fahren, neben der Donau auf einer schmalen, aber guten Straße. Vor hunderttausenden Jahren hat der heute unscheinbare Fluss sich zwischen Beuron und Sigmaringen durch den Kalkfelsen gearbeitet. Seitdem hat er, zusammen mit Wind und Wetter, die schroffen, steilen Felsen geformt.
Upper Danube Valley
„Swabian Grand Canyon“ is the name of the Upper Danube Valley in tourism advertising. After all, we can comfortably drive on the bottom of the „canyon“, next to the Danube on a narrow but good road.
