Geparden
Nach drei wunderbaren Tagen auf der Gästefarm Kanaan bewältigen wir eine der längsten Etappen dieser Reise, weit nach Osten. Unser Ziel ist das Quivertree Forest Restcamp, etwa 15 km nördlich von Keetmannshoop. Die Gästefarm Gariganus beim Köcherbaumwald hält Schafe und Rinder. Eine Station des Geparden-Aufzuchtprojektes (cheetah project) befindet sich auch auf dem Gelände. Wir können die Tiere nicht nur durch den Maschendrahtzaun beobachten sondern auch bei der Fütterung ins Gehege und sie aus nächster Nähe fotografieren.
Cheetahs
After three wonderful days on the guest farm Kanaan, we manage one of the longest stages of this journey, far to the east. Our destination is the Quivertree Forest Restcamp, about 15 km north of Keetmannshoop. The guest farm Gariganus near the quiver tree forest keeps sheep and cattle. A station of the Cheetah Breeding Project (cheetah project) is also located on the site. Not only can we observe the animals through the wire mesh fence, but we can also go into the enclosure while they are fed and take photos of them from close up.
