Vee Lake Road
Es ist etwas spät geworden in Yellowknife, als wir einen Übernachtungsplatz suchen. Nach drei Tagen in der Wildnis ohne Internet haben wir länger zu tun, Emails und Blog zu bearbeiten. In der Hauptstadt der Northwest Territories ist es nicht einfach, einen geeigneten Platz für die Nacht zu finden. So begnügen wir uns mit dem Parkplatz des Skiclub. Der ist kein landschaftlicher Höhepunkt, aber im Spätsommer haben wir dort eine ruhige Nacht. Und am Morgen machen wir hier die Bekanntschaft der bezaubernden Leah.
Für die nächste Übernachtung beginnen wir die Suche rechtzeitig. Ein paar Kilometer außerhalb in Richtung Norden entdecken wir an der Vee Lake Road einen hübschen, sehr ruhigen Platz an einem Bootseinlass. Als der Herumkommer am frühen Morgen als erster aus dem Bett kommt, präsentiert sich der See mystisch im Frühnebel. Und nach dem Frühstück strahlt die ganze Gegend, als wolle sie Werbung für den Sommer machen.
It got a bit late in Yellowknife when we search for a place to stay. After three days in the wilderness without internet, we have to work longer to edit emails and blog. In the capital of the Northwest Territories it is not easy to find a suitable place for the night. So we settle for the parking of the Skiclub. This is not a scenic highlight, but in late summer we have a quiet night there. And in the morning we make the acquaintance of the charming Leah here.
For the next night we start the search on time. A few miles out to the north, at Vee Lake Road, we discover a pretty, very quiet spot by a boat launch. When the Aroundgetter first gets out of bed in the early morning, the lake presents itself mystically in the morning mist. And after breakfast, the whole area shines as if to advertise the summer.
