Die Landschaft im Vikos-Aóos-Nationalpark ist sehr vielfältig, häufig ist sie rau. Was wir bisher gesehen haben, ist geprägt von einer Art hellem Schiefer. Etwa fünf Kilometer hinter Monodendri, anderthalb Kilometer vor dem Aussichtspunkt Oxya, erreichen wir am Abend den Steinwald (Stone forest), der uns an die Pancake Rocks in Neuseeland erinnert. Sowohl die Felsformationen hier, als auch die Bäume und Sträucher sind besonders bizarr. Auf einer Wiese im Talgrund haben wir einen besonders einsamen Stellplatz mit einem Sternenhimmel, wie wir ihn lange nicht gesehen haben.
Pankace Rocks The landscape in the Vikos-Aóos National Park is very diverse, often it is rough. What we have seen so far is characterized by a kind of light shale. About five kilometers past Monodendri, one and a half kilometers from the observation point Oxya, in the evening we reach the stone forest, which reminds us of the Pancake Rocks in New Zealand. Both the rock formations here, as well as the trees and shrubs are particularly bizarre. In a meadow in the valley floor we have a exceptionally isolated place with a starry sky as we have not seen it for a long time.
