Begeisterung in Zeeland
Wir sind beide seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder in den Niederlanden gewesen und schätzen es sehr. Das Land ist eine gelungene Mischung aus modern und historisch, aus Hochtechnologie und Landwirtschaft, aufgeräumt und behaglich, und das Ganze mit sehr guter Infrastruktur.
Auf dem weiteren Weg nach Frankreich haben wir in Zeeland im Südwesten der Niederlande Station gemacht. Dabei haben wir ein paar hinreißende Orte entdeckt.
Zierikzee ist zwar recht klein, aber einer der bedeutendsten historischen Orte der Niederlande. Wir waren dort am Koningsdag (Montag, 27. April), überall wurde in Orange gefeiert und das Wetter war auch königlich.
Enthusiasm in Zeeland
We both have been in the Netherlands again and again for decades and appreciate it very much. The country is a successful mixture of modern and historical, of high technology and agriculture, tidy and comfortable, entirely with a very good infrastructure.
On the further way to France, we stopped in Zeeland in the south-west of the Netherlands. Thus we discovered a few gorgeous places.
Zierikzee is quite small, but one of the most important historical places in the Netherlands. We were there on the Koningsdag (King’s day, Monday, 27th April), everywhere was celebrated in orange and the weather was royal, too.
Dienstag haben wir Middelburg, die Hauptstadt von Zeeland, besucht. Es hat einen schönen, weitläufigen historischen Hafen und das besondere niederländische Flair. In einem gemütlichen Cafe haben wir in Datteltorte sowie Apfelstrudel mit Vanillesoße und Schlagsahne geschwelgt.
On Tuesday we visited Middelburg, the capital of Zeeland. It has a beautiful, extensive historical harbour and the special Dutch flair. In a cozy cafe, we indulged ourselvs in dates pie and apple strudel with vanilla sauce and whipped cream.
