Haines Road
Die Haines Road (Hwy 3) gilt als eine der landschaftlich schönsten Straßen in Yukon. Der Haines Highway, ihre südliche Fortsetzung in British Columbia muss sicher dazu gerechnet werden. Obwohl zunächst eine tief hängende Wolkendecke der Sonne keine Chance gibt, leuchten die Farben des Indian Summer.
The Haines Road (Hwy 3) is considered one of the most scenic roads in Yukon. The Haines Highway, its southern continuation in British Columbia must certainly be counted as well. Although at first a low hanging cloud cover doesn’t give the sun a chance, the colours of the Indian Summer shine.
15 Kilometer nördlich der ‚Grenze‘ von British Columbia und Yukon stürzt der Takhanne River die ‚Million Dollar Falls‘ hinab. Hier gibt es auch den Million Dollar Falls Yukon Government campground. Auf der Fahrt dort hin hat Frau Rumkommer ein kleines Video aufgenommen.

Sehr gut ausgebaute Holzstege mit Aussichtsplattformen führen vom Campground zum Wasserfall.
Very well developed boardwalks with viewing platforms lead from the campground to the waterfall.
Spektakulär führt die Haines Road von Süden kommend auf den Dezadeash Lake zu. Hier kommt die Sonne heraus. Auf dem Dezadeash Lake Yukon Government campground haben wir einen sehr schönen Stellplatz direkt am Wasser (siehe auch ‚Twin Lakes‚). Dies ist mal wieder ein wunderbarer Ort für ein Lagerfeuer (siehe auch ‚Little Salmon Lake‚).
Spectacular, the Haines Road leads from the south to the Dezadeash Lake. Here the sun comes out. On the Dezadeash Lake Yukon Government campground we have a very nice pitch right at the water (see also ‚Twin Lakes‚). This is once again a wonderful place for a camp fire (see also ‚Little Salmon Lake‚).
