Südlich von València wollen wir an den Süßwassersee l’Albufera, nah am Mittelmeer. Aber außer einem kurzen Abschnitt der Durchgangsstraße ist der See auf Straßen nicht erreichbar. Stattdessen fahren wir im umgebenden Naturpark durch Reisfelder. Hier ist der Ursprung der Paella, der Reis dafür wächst hier. Der ist offenbar schon ausgesät, die Bewässerungskanäle sind gefüllt. Das Fluten der Felder steht wohl kurz bevor.
South of València we want to reach the freshwater lake l’Albufera, close to the Mediterranean Sea. But except for a short section of the thoroughfare, the lake is not accessible on roads. Instead, we drive through rice fields in the surrounding nature park. Here is the origin of the paella, the rice for it grows here. It is apparently already sown, the irrigation channels are filled. The flooding of the fields is probably imminent.
