Bei etwas mehr als der Hälfte der Entfernung zwischen Thessaloniki und Athen ragt wie ein Haken die Halbinsel Pilion ins Ägäische Meer. Sie ist durchgängig bergig und die Straßen bestehen fast ausschließlich aus Kurven und Serpentinen. Die Haupt-“Durchgangsstraße“ ist gut asphaltiert. Zu den außerordentlich attraktiven Stränden führen allerdings weniger gute Straßen, eng, steil, häufig in schlechtem Zustand. Die Fahrt auf der gesamten Halbinsel ist anstrengend, aber die Landschaft entschädigt uns dafür. Bei unserer Ankunft werden wir von einem traumhaften Sonnenuntergang begrüßt.
Pelion At a little more than half the distance between Thessaloniki and Athens, the Pelion Peninsula rises into the Aegean Sea like a hook. It is mountainous and the roads consist almost entirely of curves and serpentines. The main „through road“ is well paved. To the exceptionally attractive beaches, however, lead less good roads, narrow, steep, often in bad condition. The ride on the entire peninsula is exhausting, but the scenery rewards us for it. On our arrival we are greeted by a fantastic sunset.
