Playa El Doradillo

Northeast of Puerto Madryn, on the way to the Valdés peninsula, we have an idyllic pitch on the beach. Playa El Doradillo stretches along the Golfo Nuevo. At both ends it is framed by limestone cliffs, in one of which are washed-out grottos. On the other, there is a very simple lighthouse and a wooden hut below it as an observation post. Golfo Nuevo is known as a whale sanctuary.

Early in the morning, Mrs Roundgetter spots the first whales from her bed, not far from the beach. In no time she is dressed and on the beach with the camera.
