Südöstlich von Portimão lockt uns der Leuchtturm Farol da Ponto do Altar an die Einfahrt zum Hafen. Der historische Leuchtturm steht auf einer Felsklippe mit atemberaubenden Aussichten. An einer Stelle ist in der Klippe ein „Fenster“ zum Meer. Weiter landeinwärts sind große Löcher im Fels. Holzzäune verhindern, dass Wanderer hinein stürzen. Wie tief die Löcher reichen, ist nicht zu sehen, aber die Brandung rauscht dort unten.
South-east of Portimão, the Farol da Ponto do Altar lighthouse beckons us at the entrance to the harbour. The historic lighthouse stands on a rocky cliff with breathtaking views. At one point there is a „window“ to the sea in the cliff. Further inland are large holes in the rock. Wooden fences prevent hikers from falling in. It is not possible to see how deep the holes go, but the surf roars down there.
