Zwischen Šibenik und Trogir liegt unmittelbar vor der Küste eine Insel, wie aus einem Bilderbuch: Primošten. Laut Womo-Führer bedeutet der Name „über die Brücke“, denn den Damm, der es mit dem Festland verbindet, gab es früher nicht. Auf der Spitze des kegelförmigen Eilands thront die Kirche, darum herum bis ans Wasser stehen dicht gedrängt die Häuser. Der karstige Meeresboden lässt das Wasser drumherum türkis erscheinen.
Between Šibenik and Trogir lies an island just off the coast, as if from a picture book: Primošten. According to the (German) camper guide, the name means „over the bridge“ because the dam that connects it to the mainland did not exist before. The church is enthroned on the top of the conical island, and the houses are crowded around it down to the the water. The karstic seabed makes the water appear turquoise around it.
