Auf der Wasserkuppe sieht es aus, als sei landesweiter Wandertag, alle Welt ist bei sommerlichem Wetter unterwegs. Am Schwarzen Moor ist das Bild ähnlich. Also fahren wir weiter zur Rother Kuppe. Das ist ein Bergsporn im Naturpark Bayerische Rhön und im Biosphärenreservat Rhön. Er ist von einem Aussichtsturm mit Gaststätte besetzt. An einer Flanke des Berges steht ein schöner Buchenmischwald. Trotz einiger herbstbunter Farbtupfer wirkt der Wald noch fast frühlingshaft.
Rother summit
On the Wasserkuppe it looks like it’s a nationwide hiking day, everyone is out and about in summery weather. The picture is similar at the Black Moor (Schwarzes Moor). So we continue to the Rother Kuppe. This is a mountain spur in the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park and the Rhön Biosphere Reserve. It is occupied by an observation tower with a restaurant. There is a beautiful mixed beech forest on one side of the mountain. Despite a few splashes of autumn colour, the forest still looks almost like spring.
