Over to Euboea Euboea, the second largest island of Greece (after Crete) is considered a kind of secret tip. From Glifa, on the mainland north of the island, the ferry takes 30 minutes. We drive only a few kilometers, to Pefki, opposite the south coast of Pilion. Here we have, once again directly at the beach, a wonderful parking space for the night. Far and wide, we are the only ones, where in the summer is lively activity.
Over to Euboea The next morning, the sky is overcast, not a good light for attractive photos. But, what the pictures do not convey: it is 24°C warm. We look at a few places worth seeing at the sea and the Achmetagha Valley. It separates the hilly north of Euboea from the mountainous center. The river, which flows here, with its water ensures that a vast forest of majestic plane trees could spread. At a chapel we take lunch break under the plane trees.
In the late afternoon, we arrive at our day’s destination, the beach of Limnionas, on a breakneck gravel road crashed into the mountain above the coast. We are put out of our misery when the never-ending five kilometers are behind us. Rarely ever, our four-wheel drive plus reduction was so important!
