Bei Lopătari, etwa 35 km nordwestlich der Schlammvulkane, ist eine weitere bizarre geologische Besonderheit zu bestaunen: Weiße Berge. Sie sind nicht durchgehend weiß, aber im Sonnenschein leuchten sie. Ähnlich wie im Salz-Canyon bei Praid tritt hier Salz als Gestein wie Felsen an die Erdoberfläche. Eine Front verläuft entlang der Straße von Südosten in den Ort. Quer dazu öffnet sich ein Canyon. Wir sehen hier einige Salzformationen wie bei Praid, aber auch viele andere. Überall leuchtet, schimmert und strahlt es in Salzstöcken, -krusten und –kristallen.
Salt mountains At Lopătari, about 35 km northwest of the mud volcanoes, you can marvel at another bizarre geological feature: White Mountains. They are not white all the way through, but in the sunshine they shine. Similar to the Salt Canyon near Praid, salt comes to the earth’s surface here as rock. A front runs along the road from the southeast into the village. Across it, a canyon opens up. We see some salt formations here like at Praid, but also many others. Everywhere it glows, shimmers and radiates in salt domes, crusts and crystals.
