Nach Lefkada
An unserem Weg vom Peloponnes entlang der griechischen Westküste nach Norden zum Fährhafen Igoumenitsa liegt die Insel Lefkada (auch Lefkas). Sie ist nur durch einen Kanal vom Festland getrennt. Selbstverständlich haben wechselnde Herrscher Jahrhunderte lang den Zugang zur Insel mit einer Festungsanlage kontrolliert. Einer der Wehrtürme der Ruine ist die Basis eines Leuchtturms.
Über eine schwimmende Drehbrücke gelangen wir an eine Lagune. Deren Nehrung bildet den Norden der Insel. Hier stehen am Weststrand vier alte Windmühlen bzw. was davon noch übrig ist.
To Lefkada On our way from the Peloponnese along the Greek west coast to the north to the ferry port Igoumenitsa lies the island of Lefkada (or Lefkas). It is separated only by a canal from the mainland. Of course, changing rulers have controlled access to the island with a fortress for centuries. One of the defense towers of the ruin is the base of a lighthouse. Via a floating swing bridge we reach a lagoon. Its spit forms the north of the island. Here on the west beach are four old windmills or what is left of them.
