La Martinière im Frühnebel
Im letzten Licht des Tages haben wir den Stellplatz La Martinière bei Le Pellerin, westlich von Nantes erreicht. Die ganze Nacht regnet es heftig, aber beim Frühstück endet der Regen. Um uns herum ist alles in Nebel getaucht, der sich nur zögerlich lichtet und eine gespenstisch mystische Stimmung erzeugt. Bei einem Spaziergang in der Umgebung sehen wir den ehemaligen Canal de la Martinière, der in der Nähe in die Loire mündet. Boote liegen auf dem Schlick am Loire-Ufer. Am Schleusentor steht das Kunstwerk Misconceivable (Unvorstellbar) des österreichischen Künstlers Erwin Wurm: Ein Boot, dessen Bug zum Fluss hin geneigt ist. An einem Zaun hat eine Spinne ein Collier erschaffen. Das Dampfmaschinenhaus für die Schleusentore steht in einiger Entfernung. Und dann entdecken wir die offen liegende Maschinerie der Tore.

In the last light of day, we reached the La Martinière pitch near Le Pellerin, west of Nantes. It rained heavily all night, but by breakfast time the rain stopps. Everything around us is shrouded in fog, which is slow to lift, creating an eerily mystical atmosphere. During a walk in the surrounding area, we see the former Canal de la Martinière, which flows into the Loire nearby. Boats lie on the mudflats on the banks of the Loire. At the lock gate stands the artwork Misconceivable by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm: a boat with its bow tilted towards the river. A spider has created a necklace on a fence. The steam engine house for the lock gates stands some distance away. And then we discover the exposed machinery of the gates.
