Um den Vulkan Tromen
An der Ruta 40 nordöstlich von Chos Malal geht es ähnlich weiter, wie am Vortag: Verschiedenfarbige Sedimentschichten, die hoch gekippt und erodiert sind. Zunehmend kommen vulkanische Strukturen hinzu, denn die Straße führt hier im großen Bogen östlich um den Vulkan Tromen herum, der offensichtlich an der Landschaftsgestaltung kräftig mitgewirkt hat.
Around Tromen Volcano
Along Ruta 40 northeast of Chos Malal, the landscape is similar to that of the previous day: different coloured sedimentary layers that are tilted up and eroded. Increasingly, volcanic structures are added, as the road here leads in a large arc eastwards around the Tromen volcano, which has obviously played a major role in shaping the landscape.

Der Rio Colorado hat in seinem Canyon das vulkanische Werk frei gelegt. Dabei sind ganz besonders bizarre Formationen entstanden. Schließlich passieren wir den Cañadon La Culebra, nördlich der Ruta.
