Cacela Vejha
Knapp fünf Wochen nach dem Start dieser Reise in Hamburg sind wir in Portugal angekommen, im Südosten des Landes.
In der Ostalgarve besuchen wir das Mini-Dorf Cacela Vejha. Es liegt auf einem Hügel oberhalb der Lagune Ria Formosa. Im Mittelalter soll es ein Piratennest gewesen sein. Dazu gehörte selbstverständlich eine prächtige Kirche. Mit dem alten Fort aus dem 12. Jahrhundert wirkt sie vom Strand aus wie eine Festung. Von dort oben ist die Aussicht auf Lagune und Meer besonders schön.
Just under five weeks after starting this trip in Hamburg, we arrived in Portugal, in the southeast of the country.
In the Eastern Algarve we visit the mini village of Cacela Vejha. It is located on a hill above the Ria Formosa lagoon. In the Middle Ages it is said to have been a pirate’s nest. Of course, a magnificent church belonged to it. With the old fort from the 12th century, it looks like a fortress from the beach. From up there, the view of the lagoon and sea is particularly beautiful.
