Cap de Creus
Die Landzunge an der Costa Brava, wo die Pyrenäen ins Mittelmeer „abtauchen“, ist das Cap de Creus. Dies ist der östlichste Punkt Kataloniens und ganz Spaniens, nur wenige Kilometer südlich der französischen Grenze. Löchrige, schieferartige Felsen prägen das Bild dieses kargen, zerklüfteten Gebiets, das als Naturpark großflächig geschützt ist. Die einzige Straße hindurch zum Leuchtturm am absoluten Ende ist eine holprige Achterbahn.
The headland on the Costa Brava, where the Pyrenees „dive“ into the Mediterranean, is the Cap de Creus. This is the easternmost point of Catalonia and Spain, just a few kilometers south of the French border. Porous, slaty rocks characterize the image of this barren, rugged area, which is protected as a nature park over a large area. The only road through to the lighthouse at the very end is a bumpy roller coaster.
