Düne und Lagunen
Ein paar Kilometer vom Cabo Corrubedo entfernt liegt der Dünen- und Lagunenpark „Parque natural Dunar de Corrubedo e Lagoas de Carregal e Vixán“. Die Wanderdüne mit einer Ausdehnung von 1000 m x 250 m und einer Höhe von fast 20 m ist in Spanien von großer Bedeutung. Die Strandlandschaft mit einbezogenen Watt-Bereichen sowie einige Lagunen gelten als bedeutender Lebensraum und Brutareal für 3000 einheimische Vögel und Rastplatz für durchziehende Vogelarten. Der Park ist der meistbesuchte Naturpark in Galicien.
Vom Wanderparkplatz führt ein Holzbohlenweg ein paar hundert Meter über ein Feuchtgebiet bis etwa 200 Meter vor der Düne. Dort endet er vor einem Tümpel. Das Betreten der Düne ist bei Androhung von Strafe verboten.
Ein gesperrter Fahrweg führt als Wanderweg vom Parkplatz durch renaturierte Felder und Weiden, in denen Morgentau zarte Bilder zaubert. Ziel ist eine der Lagunen an einem Ende der Düne.
Dunes and lagoons
A few kilometres from Cabo Corrubedo lies the dune and lagoon park ‘Parque natural Dunar de Corrubedo e Lagoas de Carregal e Vixán’. The shifting dune, measuring 1,000 m x 250 m and reaching a height of almost 20 m, is of great importance in Spain. The beach landscape, including watt ranges and several lagoons, is considered an important habitat and breeding ground for 3,000 native birds and a resting place for migratory bird species. The park is the most visited nature park in Galicia.
From the hiking car park, a wooden boardwalk leads a few hundred metres across a wetland to about 200 metres in front of the dune. It ends there in front of a pond. Entering the dune is prohibited and punishable by law.
A closed road leads from the car park as a hiking trail through renaturalised fields and pastures, where morning dew conjures up delicate images. The destination is one of the lagoons at one end of the dune.
