Südlich von Assens ragt an Fünens Westküste die Klippe Sønderby Klint aus der Ostsee. Sie ist nur am Stand entlang vom Parkplatz Å Strandvej zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Meer wäscht hier ständig Steine aus dem Sand, u.A. viele erstklassige Feuersteine, bestes Material für Faustkeile. Die stabilen Flanken der Klippe sind von Wildrosen, Sanddorn, Holunder und anderen Sträuchern überwuchert. Am Steinstrand wächst eine Art wilder Kohl, der viele kleine weiße Blüten leuchten lässt. Die Fruchtstände sind als ovale Bällchen in die Höhe gereckt.
South of Assens, on Funen’s west coast, the cliff Sønderby Klint rises out of the Baltic Sea. It can only be reached on foot along the beach from the Å Strandvej car park. The sea constantly washes stones out of the sand here, including many first-class flints, the best material for hand axes. The stable flanks of the cliff are overgrown with wild roses, buckthorn, elderberry and other shrubs. A kind of wild cabbage grows on the stony beach, shining with many small white flowers. The fruit clusters are stretched upwards as oval balls.

An einigen Stellen sind Abbrüche der Klippe zu sehen, auch Regen hat zu Erdrutschen geführt. Auf den offen liegenden, nackten Flächen breitet sich Huflattich aus. Ganz oben in der Klippe nisten unzählige Mauersegler.
