Die elegant geformte Aussichtsplattform in Stegastein ist selbst eine Attraktion. Die Aussicht von der Glaswand am Ende der Plattform auf die Fjordlandschaft ist sensationell. 30 m über den Baumwipfeln und 650 m über dem Aurlandsfjord entsteht der Eindruck in der Luft zu schweben. Doch bei unserem Eintreffen sehen wir erst mal fast nichts. Nebelfetzen lassen den Fjord und den Ort Aurlandsvangen verschwinden. Doch dann erleben wir eine Choreografie von Nebel, Wolken und Sonnenlicht. Innerhalb von Sekunden reißen Wolken und Nebel auf, ziehen durch den Fjord, schieben sich über die Berge und neue fallen herab.
Wie an jedem Ort von touristischer Bedeutung in Norwegen steht auch hier ein Häuschen mit erstklassig ausgestatteten WC. Hier gibt es ein besonderes Highlight: Eine der Toiletten hat ein Panoramafenster, aus dem man den Fjord überblickt.
The elegantly shaped viewing platform at Stegastein is an attraction in itself. The view of the fjord landscape from the glass wall at the end of the platform is sensational. 30 m above the treetops and 650 m above the Aurlandsfjord, you get the impression of floating in the air. But when we arrive, we see almost nothing at first. Wisps of fog make the fjord and the village of Aurlandsvangen disappear. But then we experience a choreography of fog, clouds and sunlight. Within seconds, clouds and fog break up, move through the fjord, push over the mountains and new ones fall down. As in every place of tourist importance in Norway, there is also a building here with a first-class toilet. There is a special highlight here: one of the toilets has a panoramic window overlooking the fjord.
