Seit der Rückkehr aus Italien vor fünf Monaten haben wir viel Zeit verbracht mit Planung und Vorbereitung unserer nächsten, sehr langen Tour. Ein halbes Jahr lang wollen wir durch Kanada reisen, von der Ostküste durch die Prärie zur Westküste, nach Norden und zurück zur Ostküste. Dazu bald mehr.
Während unseres Berichts von der Reise durch Zentral- und Westaustralien haben wir einige Änderungen an unserer Webseite durchgeführt. Mit den Leaflet-Landkarten von mapfig hatten wir zunehmend Probleme, darum hat der Herumkommer in wochenlanger Fleißarbeit alle Karten auf Google maps übertragen. Die funktionieren auch als Satellitenbild. Außerdem haben wir das Theme gewechselt, das Erscheinungsbild der Webseite. Das ist jetzt heller, wirkt frischer und moderner, wie wir finden.
Zu allen Inhalten gibt es jetzt eine englische Übersetzung, sodass der Blog vollständig zweisprachig ist. Passend dazu haben wir neben ‚Herumkommer.de‘ als weitere Adresse die ungefähre englische Entsprechung ‚aroundgetters.de‘ eingeführt. Beide Adressen sind jetzt auf unser Wohnmobil gedruckt, die deutsche auf der Motorhaube, die englische am Heck oben.
Die sehr grobstolligen ‚Mud Terrain‘-Geländereifen, vor zwei Jahren für die große Islandreise montiert, waren abgefahren. Immerhin sind sie 50.000 km gelaufen, obwohl wir sie stark beansprucht haben. Die neuen ‚All Terrain‘-Reifen sind viel leiser und deutlich laufruhiger. Zur Zeit stehen sie allerdings, an Bord eines Schiffs auf dem Nordatlantik, das bald Halifax an der kanadischen Ostküste erreichen soll.
Conversions and extensions
Since returning from Italy five months ago, we have spent a lot of time planning and preparing for our next, very long tour. For half a year we want to travel through Canada, from the east coast through the prairie to the west coast, north and back to the east coast. More soon.
During our report on the journey through Central and Western Australia, we made some changes to our website. With the leaflet maps of mapfig we had more and more problems, that’s why the Aroundgetter in weeks of diligence has transferred all maps on Google maps. They also work as a satellite image. We also changed the theme, the appearance of the website. This is brighter now, looks fresher and more modern, as we find.
All content now has an English translation, so the blog is completely bilingual. Matching this we have introduced, additional to ’Herumkommer.de’ as another address, the approximate English equivalent ’aroundgetters.de’. Both addresses are now printed on our camper, the German on the hood, the English at the rear top.
The very rough, mud-terrain off-road tires, mounted two years ago for the big Iceland trip, were worn. After all, they have run 50,000 km, although we have used them heavily. The new, all-terrain tires are much quieter running smoother. However, they are currently standing, on board a ship on the North Atlantic, which should soon reach Halifax on the Canadian East Coast.
